Your Reno Music Playlist

It is no secret I love music.  It is as much a part of me as the air I breathe.  I've worked in the music business for years prior to real estate so it's no wonder I often try to incorporate the two whenever possible!  When it comes to home renovations I always make sure to have music playing throughout the process!  Music can help create the right mood at the right times while also providing you with the soundtrack to your personal "reno" film!  So with that said let me provide you with an essential list of artists and songs for your 'Full Reno Playlist' to get you through your next home project :)

The "Demo" Playlist

Ahh day one.  Excitement is in the air.  The team has arrived to destroy.  The empty bin is sitting on the driveway ready to catch everything thrown in its direction! In this phase agression and excitment are at an all time high.  This is the phase to let your inner animal out...breaking things, using 'manly' tools and kicking down walls, what a great stress reliever.  During this phase you should set your playlist to include the following bands:

Van Halen, Def Leppard, The Sex Pistols, The Clash, The Ramones, The Foo Fighters, Rage Against The Machine,  ACDC, Tool & Nine Inch Nails.  That should keep spirits up and the energy level pretty high

The "Depression" Playlist

For your next phase however we will need to slow things down unfortunately.  This is the phase when you realize everything was done 'wrong' behind the walls.  The plumbing is leaking, the electrical is wired all wrong, not enought insulation in the attic, mold in the basement and on and on it goes. Now reality is kicking in and you start to accept that your once neat and organized excel budget is no longer accurate.  Here is the soundtrack for this phase:

The Smiths, Lana Del Ray, The Weeknd, Sigur Ros, The Cure, Adele, Radiohead, Ben Folds Five, Enya, and Joy Division.  Get the picture...keep lots of Kleenex on hand.   ;)

The "New Finishes" Playlist

But after you're done whining and sobbing uncontrollably you somehow get the confidence, momentum and the bank to agree to raise your line of credit to get through, you finally start to see the light at the end of the tunnel.  New finishes start to enter your world.  Hardwood flooring, modern vanities, designer paint on the wall,  custom kitchen cabinets,  mosaic backsplash etc.  There is now hope for a better day!  Your newxt playlist should include:

There you have it.  My essential list for home reno tunes!  By the way, there is one last phase for music...the 'Just saw my Credit Card Bill' playlist! For that however no new playlist is needed.  Simply  hit the "Depression Phase Playlist" and leave it on repeat for the next ten years!!!
